Finding flow through art is my meditation. As a recovering perfectionist who’s turning into an imperfectionist, these mandalas really help keep me in the moment. They need to be consistent and uniform AND blemishes and inconsistencies are GOING to happen. Not all the circles are the same size, not all the lines are equal.
When I make what I think is a mistake, I keep going. I made a pact with myself a long time ago. After years of starting projects and never finishing, I am now (within reason) dedicated to finishing everything I begin. The little squiggles sometimes end up being my favorite part or cause me to go a different route than I’d otherwise take.
Kinda like life, right? Without some stumbles and trips we might not have been rerouted in the direction we actually wanted to be going. Art, meditation, life, they’re really all the same things.
